Stardoll Devotees

You might have seen the adverts down the side of your screen titled 'Stardoll Devotees', and when you click on it, it will take you HERE to see a magazine post dedicated to nine of Stardoll's 'Long-term users'. All of which seem to have spent obscene amounts of money on stardollars, have high amounts of starpoints and generally are considered 'elite'.

From the name 'devotees', it seems to suggest that they have devoted their lives to Stardoll, so I'm not sure if this was a good name for Stardoll to call them. However, these members have given a lot of money to Stardoll, so it seems right for Stardoll to recognise them.

What do you think of the Stardoll Devotees? What do you think makes a devoted member?

More Moodiwear Designs

It's week 6 of the moodiwear competition, so it's almost over, as this competition lasts 7 weeks. This means 4 more cheap designs for non-superstars to create. Luckily there's a simple emotion this week, it's just happy, not like the previous emotions such as confused (week 3) and angry (week 4).

I think stardoll are running out of designs, as the clothes are getting less and less well-designed as the weeks are progressing. This week there is a short crop-top, which I guess could be used as an undertop, but the straps are a bit annoying as they don't change pattern and stay a silvery-grey colour. Also, there's a cute pair of short heeled boots to design, but to me they seem to be a weird shape. There's a little bag with a chain handle to make too, but I have to say that I don't really like this designa as much as the bag in a previous week, as this one is slightly too small and I'm not a fan of the shape. Finally there's a dress, which is sort of tucked in at the top and draped around the rest, It's quite cute but I do prefer other dress designs in other weeks.

What do you think of these designs? Are you sad that the moodiwear competition is almost finished?

New Decade of the Teens collection

In the new Decade of the Teens shop, you will see another level and a new collection designed by some of Stardoll's own members who entered the design contest.

My favourite dress is the turquoise one with peacock feathers at the bottom, but I don't really like any of the rest. To me it shows that they have not been designed by Stardoll, and while Stardoll aren't the best at designing clothes, they nearly always look professional and wearable. But some of these cloothes are very strange, and I can't imagine creating any outfits I would want to dress my medoll in.

Decade of the Teens

A new theme on Stardoll called 'Decade of the Teens' and there is a campaign page where you can get a free top and also there is a new shop in the Starplaza.

To get to the campaign page click HERE then to get the free top simply write whatever you want in one of the two boxes and press send. You can write about either 'Today I'm grateful for...' or 'In the future I will...'. These are New-Years resolutions type questions to celebrate the new decade.

The new shop in the Starplaza has a selection of dresses, shoes and bags which have been designed by users from the design competition. The dresses are all for superstars and are priced from 8sd to 10sd however, the shoes and bags are for non-ss and are all less than 5sd.

January Hotbuys

The new January Hotbuys have been released in the magazine and I personally love them. The model in the picture reminds me of Marilyn Monroe and the 50s film stars, and I always wish that Stardoll would make the models features into ones we can use on our medolls. Also, a lot of the clothes seem vintage-inspired this month.

I love the black top with the pink heart on, it seems really simple and there could be lots of cute, everyday outfits made with it. I also like the pink cardigan, it has a touch of the 50's, with the skinny belt and corsage on it. The dark dress is another one which I love, the pattern around the bottom is so pretty and I think this also has a vintage look about it. The little octopus bracelet will probably be too small to see the details in when it's made, but I like it close-up. The black tights are a bit weird, I don't really get why the pattern isn't all the way up the leg, rather than just on the calves.

I'm not really sure about the turquoise coat, the colours quite nice, and the style's ok, but the pattern looks furry and cheap, so I probably will have to see it to decide. The silver wrapped present bag is adorable, I love it, and the colouring is so simple, it will go with lots of outfits. The shoes look like very similar to the Chanel-inspired ones in Decades. The chapagne-coloured dress has a touch of glamour about it, and I like the way it's been folded. Finally, the little shrug thing is ok, but I'm not really a fan of those colours.

New Magazine

I personally love Stardoll magazines, so when lillyandmile sent me this spoiler to her new magazine, I had to show it to you all. You can tell from the spoiler that it is going to be called 'Crystal' and I think it is going to be great.

Now I never liked the idea of archive. It would be fine if stardoll just re-released average stuff.
But I knew stuff like this was going to start. Plus its just an excuse for lazy stardoll to re-release old stuff in a new way.

WTF Stardoll comp SS only!!!

There's I new comp on stardoll. But Its only for SS.
When I click on it, the pop-up gives me the become superstar blahbabablah.
Apparently its a "dress up the doll" sort of comp.
The doll you have to dress up is new, so it's SS only for a week.
I hope the doll becomes non-ss before the comps over.

How to add yourself

You might have seen recently that people have got themselves on the BFF list, I'm going to tell you how to do this little trick yourself so you are your own friend.

First, search for anything in the search box on the left side of Stardoll, once you have got onto the 'Find Friends' section you need to search your own username. Then simply click the friend request button and send a request to yourself. Then go to your friend list and you should see yourself in the 'Unclassified section', change yourself into your best friends and voila! You will also see yourself on your chat list.

TYNS feature #2

This time on things you've never seen before......




I was in this girls suite and I came across her rares/bidding room.
In it I found the super rare ugly girl poncho that most of us have heard about, but even I have never seen. Also the Claudia dress, I'm not sure if its rare, but I've only seen it a few times.
I lastly these super ugly rio checkered pants I've never seen or heard of in my life. lol

More re-releases.

Why dose stardoll like to ruin peoples rares??
Today stardoll re-released some old stuff from rio. A pair of old jeans from 07', and black Paulina peep toes . Also the fairly rare Celine turtleneck dress was re-released for only $6 stardollars!!
It WAS worth $30-$60 stardollars.







Well on the bright side its good for people who didn't get it. But now It wont be rare anymore.

Sale

The monthly sale in the starplaza has come again, there are some really good deals this month, especially from the Baby Phat shop, where some of the shoes are down from 9 or 10sd to 2 or 3sd.

There are also some good deals in other shops, I think that the paint splattered jacket in Bisou, now 3sd down from 7sd is a cute jacket that could look good, and a sequined striped top from Tingeling which is also 3sd and was 6sd.

In baby phat all the shoes on the first floor are on sale. Why just the shoes in the first place I don't know. Anyway, the normal prices are $9-$10 sds, but there on sale for $2-$3 sds!!!
And the reindeer in the voile holiday boutique original price $6 is on sale for $2!!
If you want these items I would hurry and buy before stardoll realizes their mistake.

YAA feature #2

This time on YAA I chose to feature redstar*1 for her amazing outfit.







She used the black bluster dress from last years superstar calendar, the multi ruffle babydoll dress from bisou, and studs from DIY to make a stunning dress. She also added more studs to the shoes, and the LE purse to add her own touch. The hat and her makeup and jewelry compliment it perfectly. Not to speak of her gorgeous suite!!!

New blog feature TYNS.

In this feature I search the starbazar and peoples sales for things you've never seen before. Hence the acronym TYNS. I've found that there are a lot of items that are rare, but are not marked RARE by stardoll. I'll feature thing that thats and also super rare items marked rare.

For my first TYNS post I chose the inspired by Kane RARE dress. That I made the screen print of a while ago. That was the first and last time I've seen this dress so far.

I was looking in the suite shop today and I noticed an old scenery had been re-released for $20 stardollars.
I don't know why stardoll would re-release and bollywood style scenery around Christmas time. lol

New Party Room

On the new party section, there is a new room for parties to take place in. It is called "Bows and Ribbons Ballroom", and in the furniture section, there are all of the new candy-themed furniture to put in.

However, at the moment there is not a different icon when you go to the Party 'Lobby', when it is small it looks like the Fashion room, but when you scroll your mouse over it, it looks like the Pink Party room. Hopefully this will get fixed soon

Do you like the new party room? Has there been too much Bows and Ribbons themed stuff?

Even more new moodiwear designs

Once again, as it's week 5 of the Childline comp there are new designs in the stardesign. The mood this week is 'excited'. If you don't understand, go to THIS link.

There is a gorgeous draped top which looks really expensive and beautiful when you make it, so I love that. I also like the shoes, although they're just a plain court shoe, it's useful to be able to make shoes in the stardesign, as I don't remember being able to before now. I don't really like the little shrug jacket, to me it doesn't seem a nice shape. I'm not really sure about the dress; when you make it, it makes the material go shiny, which could look great, but I'm not sure.

How are you going to make an 'excited' design? Do you like these designs?

Stardoll Mistakes

Everyone makes mistakes, we know that, but just today I've noticed two mistakes that Stardoll have made.

The first is a spelling mistake on the daily polls Stardoll do, where they've misspelt 'girls' as 'grils'. The second mistake is a bit weirder, if you go to the Voile shop, on the prices by the side of clothes, which are often wrong anyway, there is a price which says '225sd' but with a cross through it, like when LE items are out of stock. I don't know why this is, as I don't remember any items in Voile which have been limited.

Have you noticed any more mistakes Stardoll have made? Are Stardoll's standards slipping?

Sweet furniture in Minishop

In the minishop, there's a new collection of furniture, which is all pink and purple and in a candy theme. The furniture is slightly obscure, but it looks really good.

I don't know how useful these items are, but they do add a bit of fun to your suite. Items like the Giant Lollipop and Giant Candy really are adorable, but I probably won't buy them because I don't know how I would incorporate them into any of the rooms in my suite. I also like the chairs and sofa that have bows on them.

Non-ss face/outfit ideas!!

This is a very stylish party ready outfit for non-ss. I know its hard when you only have $5 a day and you cant save it. But the good thing is all the items in this outfit are $5 or under so you can buy the outfit in 6 days. :)

The leopard shift is one of my fave items for anyone at the moment. You can wear it as a dress, but its also great for layering. Pared with the pretty in pink skirt and the voile bow-tie pumps it makes an amazing outfit!! I used some gold jewelry to finish it off, If you've been SS before then you can add your own makeup.

New floor in the Voile Holiday Boutique!!!

There's new stuff In the Voile Holiday Boutique!! There are cute things like the shoes belts, the black top, red dress and the beautiful blue one shoulder number. But there are also some real failures. Overall its cute, but I like the other two floors better.

What do you think about the new floor, will you be buying??

New Voile Holiday Boutique Collection

Once again there's a new floor and a new collection in the Voile Holiday Boutique Store. There are clothes in there from the 'Ribbon and Bow' Styled outfits which I previously said that they were disappointing looking.

My favourite piece is the two tone bow frock; it's such a gorgeous colour and I think it looks really glamarous. I also like the Rust bow heels, because they're cute shoes and a bargain at only 3sd. I think the oversized bow sash is also a cute belt that can make an outfit great.

For today's outfit ideas I wanted to keep it chic and simple with soft neutral colors.
Thx to my sister for the inspiration for the outfit, she made the face and I tweaked it a little bit to go with the outfit. :]

I used I very cute dress dress that came out in Rio a while ago, and a headband that's one of my fave items from the new DKNY fall collection. I finished with simple accessories and poof gorgeous look with a face to match!!!

YAA Feature #1

For my first YAA post I chose katara4 for her amazing sceneries ( now called photos )!!!

The first Is simple stunning!!! I love her outfit, and the way her doll is just carelessly laying on the bed, so elegant.


The second is very nice. We've all seen the gymnastics thing done b/4 but this is one of the best I've seen. If you look you can see she how she used two different heads make a gorgeous hair style w/ a bang, and her hair falling behind her shoulders.

LE Glitch!!!

As we all know the new LE came out yesterday, and it was fab!!
But with the new LE came the same glitch antidote had.
Apparently even after LE items are sold in the shop you can still pick them up on the new list, but not the search. AND for some reason there is not a stock bar when you click on them from there.

Now I Don't think you can still buy them, I cant not test this b/c I non-ss at the moment.
But when they were in stock if you bought an item off the new list, I wonder if you would still have your item number like 250/500 when you get them in your suite. Or if it would look like the pic with no stock bar.

Is being superstar worth it?

You may have seen the new video promoting becoming superstar. If you haven't click HERE. Along with superstar becoming more expensive, and a new, more user-friendly payment service, Stardoll are really pushing becoming superstar.

I think that Stardoll are trying to make more users want to be supserstar, because the prices have gone up and so they may be losing customers because of it. Also involved in the new advert is a member called Super_Girl, who is probably created by Stardoll. This is because she has friends on her best friend list who also seem Stardoll-created, and at every chance she is saying how great being superstar is.

Has all this advertising made you want to be superstar? What do you think of the new payment scheme?

Ribbon and Bow styled outfits

There are some new styled outfits, they are called "Ribbon and Bows". The style itself sounds quite girly, but rather glamarous and I like some of the clothes in this new style.

However, if you look at the second page of the style, the hot-pink dress looks really trashy, and not well-designed at all. I also think that the gold dress on the second page isn't up to stardoll's usual standard. But, I do like the purple dress on the doll who I think is Kristen Stewart? and the patterned dress, both on the first page. To be honest, I'm not really sure about this style, if it didn't have the second page, it would have been better.

What do you think of these new styled outfits? Will you be buying any?

New LE out

The New Limited Edition is out, With a cute 80's theme running through the collection. I think that LE's gottten more expensive, and there are a lot more floors than there was when it first came out. This is probably Stardoll who are seemingly obsessed with making money.

I did buy a top, I always buy at least one piece from each LE collection, and although it was expensive, I choose it because I liked it, not just for the sake of buying LE. I like lots of the dresses too, but I don't want to spend 100sd+ on a virtual dress.

New LE coming?

I was looking through one of my favourite blogs, Stardoll's most Wanted, when I saw a post saying that there may be new LE coming soon. There were pictures included, and in today's poll, it seems like Stardoll is hinting that there would be more.

Here is the poll, and the different options
Limited Edition means that:
- There's only a few, high quality. products
- The things are really expensive and odd
- It doesn't have a meaning, it's just a name

Personally, I think it's too soon for another LE collection, and now it seems that Stardoll only care about getting money from us. However, the clothes are gorgeous, I adore them, but I am hoping that they aren't LE, so I can buy lots without spending obscene amounts.

What do you think of the newspoilers for LE? Do you want another collection?

The advent calendars

As the advent calendars are almost half way through, I thought I'd tell you what I think of both the superstar, and non-superstar ones so far.

My favourite items are the owl top, 1sd, day 11, non-ss, because it was so cheap and it is simple without being boring. I also liked the pink dress, 5sd, day 6, ss, it was also available for non-ss in the starplaza and the multi-coloured jacket, free, day 8, ss, because it looks sparkly and I love sparkles.

I don't like the lamb, 2sd, day 12, non-ss, or the angel, 3sd, day 11, non-ss, both of which seem too boring for a fashion website, and it would be better if stardoll release more cute clothes for non-ss aswell as the nice items from the ss calendar.

What do you think of the calendars? Which are your favourite items so far?

New Voile Holiday Boutique Collection

A new Voile Holiday Boutique collection has been released. This collection is slightly more contemporary than the last one, and you would probably be able to wear these clothes more.

I like the turquoise "Sparkle Burst Frock", 9sd, weirdly, I think it makes my medoll look skinnier, but I think that's just because of the pattern. It is also quite cheap compared to other dresses in the Starplaza at the moment. I love the "Gold Foil Shift", 12 sd, it is perfect for Christmas and is so sparkly.

What do you think of the new collection? Which is your favourite item?

New Miss Sixty Collection

The new Miss Sixty Fall collection has come out in the Starplaza. It is slightly cheaper than the previous collections, with items starting from 4sd for a pair of fingerless gloves.

I like the silk bow tied dress, 24sd best, because I think the colours are beautiful and the style is great. Also, the two pairs of gloves, at 4sd and 6sd are great if you want to have a piece of Miss Sixty but don't have much money. I also like the Cosmic Print Dress, 20sd, because I love the pattern , which was also used in the previous collection.
